Orchard Park recently had enormous success at Tech Wars, winning the entirety of the competition in a display of superior technological capability. This past Tuesday on January 12th, upwards of 50 Orchard Park High School technology education students, along with some from the middle school, competed in the 26th annual Tech Wars. After being unable to attend last year, returning to this competition to bag a victory was a great way to celebrate.

Niagara County Community College hosted students from schools such as Clarence, Tonawanda, Maryvale and more and allowed them to show off their technological skills in a series of exciting challenges. These included events such as bridge building, CO2 cars, films, robot capture the flag, architecture, catapults, and problem solving, all in a wide variety of competition that suits the interests of many students.

Orchard Park placed high in the events they participated in, which contributed to their overall success at the competition. Students from Orchard Park brought projects including bridges, model homes, films and cars, and some participated in the STEM problem solving challenges. Weeks of hard work on these projects allowed for them to take home the win, demonstrating the talented and creative technological minds of Orchard Park students.

The day was spent enjoying what students from the several participating schools had to present, and it was exciting to see so many intelligent students share their ideas. While Orchard Park took home the win, everyone involved expressed pride in their work and had an amazing time. Tech wars is an excellent opportunity for young students to display their technological capabilities with projects of their own, and in the future, Orchard Park hopes to claim more victories at this competition.
