As spring is quickly approaching, Unified Basketball is beginning to start up! Orchard Park High School is proud to say they have three unified sports teams: bocce, basketball and bowling. The Special Olympics Unified Sports Program is an amazing group of student athletes of all intellectual abilities that participate together in sports to grow, learn and discover more about themselves and others. They are always looking for new members to sign up and anyone can join!
Please keep an eye out for fundraising events throughout the rest of the year in support of the program. Recently, the program hosted a fundraiser for a chance to win Buffalo Sabres tickets that was sponsored by OP Impact. The money raised through these events provide the athletes the opportunity to have sponsor clothing, a celebratory end of the year party, equipment, etc. If you have any questions or are looking for a way to help support unified sports, you can go visit Mrs. Grossman in room 120 or email her at [email protected].
