Have you ever seen the “Emergency Intercom” podcast? If you haven’t, I suggest you go watch it because it’s great; but the reason I bring it up is that every week, the two co-hosts do a segment called Media of the Week where they talk about new things like music, movies, or any piece of entertainment that they liked from the internet. I want to start doing that here, but monthly.
Basically, every month I want to talk about new things that I have been watching or keeping up with and tell you why I like them. So let’s kick off with the “Emergency Intercom” podcast for my October pick. It’s been one of the main things that I have been watching recently. It’s just a podcast where two people, Drew and Enya, talk about random things, but it’s so funny and entertaining. I think one of the main reasons why it’s interesting to me is that it bounces around between different topics at a fast pace, so I never get bored when I watch it, which is usually what happens when I watch other podcasts. I also like how they talk about funny stories or current things on social media that I can either relate to or understand. Personally, I find it boring listening to a podcast of someone vaguely telling a story about people whom I don’t know or about things that don’t interest me.
Another thing that has taken over my life this month would probably be Frank Ocean. I like Frank Ocean and listen to him, but this month he has just been playing constantly for me. Specifically “Sweet Life” and “Pink Matter” off of his Channel Orange album. They are the first two songs I have been playing the second I get into the car every morning for school. I also am always listening to “Rich Baby Daddy” by Drake. It was my favorite song during the summer and always is a repeat in the fall and winter. I don’t know why, but it is a must something during the colder seasons. So is anything really by Arctic Monkeys. They just kind of give off colder weather vibes.
The last piece of media I have been ingesting this month would be “Bob’s Burgers.” This is my go-to show, and I put it on when I am bored, just want background sound, or want to sleep. Honestly, I am still scared of the dark, so I need my TV on to fall asleep, and I don’t want to put on a show that I am just starting or need to watch carefully to follow. So “Bob’s Burgers” hits the spot. I would honestly say I have watched that show at least 50 times in a row. I love it.
I know a few of my friends currently are obsessed with “Love Island.” Abby Moore loves “Love Island” and thinks “It’s so good.” I have seen clips on TikTok, but I don’t know. I don’t think I could get into it.
I know that many people are always obsessed with How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, as well, and I can’t blame them. Shay Arena-Panzetta says it’s her “comfort movie.” It is also one of my favorites, too. I haven’t watched it in a while. I should, though.
Anyway, I think this is the majority of the media I have been ingesting this month.
Bye.
