The annual fall drama Two Witches, No Waiting is on November 7-9. On November 7 and 8, the production will start at 7 p.m. at the Orchard Park High School auditorium and at 2:00 p.m. on the 9th.
Two Witches, No Waiting is about two sisters, Arlene and Elzbeth who live in South Texas and are slightly strange and who are witches, in fact. Their housekeeper starts spreading rumors about them right before she goes missing. Meanwhile, Arlene’s son attempts to get the sisters to sell their house to his fiancee’s father. The comedy is filled with laughter, twists, and turns with unexplainable happenings. “The cast is rather small. 8 people. We usually have twice the size. In total, 35 people tried out,” said Director Mrs. Szczepanik when asked how many people tried out and how many people were cast. She added that the cast has been rehearsing since the third week of September.
Madelyn Shurtliffe plays Arlene Marcus. “With a smaller cast, it means that all of us have a lot more lines. We’re still on the same path to success that we were on last year!” said Shurtliffe when asked about how the play is coming together.
Kayla Crane, who plays Bonnie Webster in the drama, said, “Rehearsals last until 4 pm, or even 5 pm, since it’s getting closer to the date of the drama, and we start at 2:45 pm.” Kayla also pointed out, “The show is really funny and corny but in a good way.” Luke Blood, who plays Eustace Sternwood in the drama, agreed. “The drama is really funny and corny with a bunch of twists and unexpected events.”
Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for senior citizens (age 62 and up). Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
