As graduation nears, seniors are finalizing their senior quotes and I will statements, a tradition that allows the students to leave a personal imprint featured in the yearbook. To submit a senior quote and an “I will” statement, students should fill out the Google form in their email. The deadline to submit is Friday, November 8 at midnight. Students will not be able to submit a second quote or “I will” statement if theirs is deemed inappropriate or violates any of the guidelines. “They’re fun traditions that everyone looks forward to,” says senior Linsdey Howard about submitting these personal statements.
Students are not permitted to use obscene, offensive, or inappropriate language, nor are they permitted to make references to tobacco, alcohol, drugs, and/or sex. Students planning to use song lyrics or poetry should make sure their quote does not break these rules. Senior quotes are limited to 120 characters. Students should see yearbook co-advisors Mr. Baldauf (362) or Mrs. Baker (261) with their questions. “Some students spend a lot of time looking up other people’s famous quotes so they can sound really profound. It should really just be a reflection of yourself now, or the way you hope to live your life. Be true to you!” said Mrs. Baker.
With only a little time left to submit, seniors are encouraged to start thinking about their quotes and “I will” statements now. “It’s a way to say goodbye and leave a piece of myself in the yearbook,” said senior Morgan Dickman. Don’t miss out on this chance to leave a personal imprint.
