On Thursday, December 19th, the holiday door decorating contest winners were decided. The lucky winners, Homeroom 325, were treated to a Panera bagel breakfast in honor of their hard work.
The nostalgia of old Christmas movies, the excitement that window displays brought to many children, and Mr. Reesors love for France inspired the door. This sparked his dream about building a holiday-inspired Eiffel Tower for the contest since he’s a French teacher. The 3D display window is in the center of the door, showcasing the Eiffel Tower. The tower is decorated with ornaments and garland to resemble a Christmas tree. The students decorated the door with snowflakes and used sponges to paint bricks, which tied everything together.
When Mr. Reesor discovered on the morning of December 19 that his homeroom had won, he excitedly sent out a mass email congratulating them.
“They were super stoked, and they definitely deserved it,” Mr. Reese said, as he described the excitement of his homeroom winning.
Mr Reesor didn’t particularly care about the prize at the end of the contest. In fact, he even decorated his door during the Halloween season despite the fact there was no contest; he just enjoys decorating and bonding with his homeroom.
‘’I like teaching, and I just wanna have like, fun!” he explained.
Their hard work and holiday cheer inspired this spectacular idea and led them to win the contest. Great job, Homeroom 325!
