OPHS Boys Tennis is heading to regionals following a remarkable season marked by their determination, teamwork, and standout individual performances. With a mix of veteran and emerging young talent, the Quakers have shown their resilience on the court all season long.
“I’m ecstatic, we haven’t won it in forever,” said sophomore Sebastian George regarding advancing to regional competition.
Led by coach McMahon, the team finished with an impressive 10-1 record overall, making them first in the Section. Their consistent hard work and dedication have rightfully earned them a spot in the regional tournament.
“OP Tennis has waited 4 years for the chance to compete outside of Section VI as a team. We are honored to represent Section VI come June 2nd!” Captain Taylor McGrath exclaimed.
Regionals are set to take place on Monday, June 2nd, at Orchard Park. There, the Quakers will face off against some of the strongest competition in the region, and, while the competition is expected to be tough, the Quakers are entering regionals with utmost confidence, hoping to make a deep run and potentially advance to States.
With passion and patience, the Quakers are ready to take the next step up and embrace their upcoming challenge. Good luck, boys!
